Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) recently went on a tangent about the upcoming release of the DOJ’s Inspector General report. In a flurry of tweets he said that President Trump would use the report to distract from the Special Counsel’s investigation into Russia. But conservative columnist Kurt Schlichter was ready to pounce. And this one must’ve hurt.

Sen. Blumenthal tweeted, “Spoiler alert: President Trump’s cronies have already readied their talking points to exaggerate&distort the facts of tomorrow’s DOJ IG report and spin them into a false narrative about the Special Counsel investigation.”

That’s when Schlicter dropped this nuclear warhead tweeting, “Sort of like what you did to your Vietnam war record?”

Blumenthal repeatedly lied about serving in Vietnam. He has been called out numerous time by the president:
