The Pentagon has awarded almost $1 billion in federal contracts for border wall construction along the U.S.-Mexico border, but a start date has not yet been announced. Though Democrats are already throwing bombs, this clearly falls under the umbrella of national defense, and the Trump administration is well within its authority to steer appropriated funds to such projects. But not without a fight. Enter 2020…

Here’s more from Breitbart…

The Pentagon awarded nearly $1 billion in contracts to build a border wall on Tuesday – its first such contracts since President Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border in February.

Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday that more contracts would be coming soon.

“I can’t give you an exact date… . We are reviewing. I expect an analysis back from the Joint Staff shortly, and that will initiate the next step in the review process. So, I’d love to give you a date … It remains a high priority and focus of the department,” he said, according to a Pentagon press pool report.

The two contracts were described in an email announcement that is sent out daily on new defense contracts.
