Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona say four Phoenix residents are being accused of helping a smuggling operation of citizens of Mexico into the United States, reports The Washington Times. Apparently, the U.S. citizen thought it would be as easy as just driving across the border to smuggle illegal aliens into the country.
Tucson Sector Border Patrol officials said most of the arrests happened at an immigration checkpoint near Tombstone.
Two Phoenix women, both 20 years old, were taken into custody last Friday when a 23-year-old man from Mexico was found in their vehicle’s trunk, according to border patrol agents.
There were also two men, both 19 and also from Phoenix, who were arrested just two days later when a 25-year-old Mexican national was discovered during a secondary inspection of the vehicle.
The permanent resident of Arizona was a 50-year old woman and was also arrested that same day near Ajo after her 59-year-old male passenger was found to be in the U.S. legally.
The border patrol agency says that they will be processing all three Mexican citizens for immigration violations.
Illegal aliens, like these ones, are trying to cross our borders every day. President Trump is trying to combat these issues of illegal immigration through better border control methods and possibly even building a wall.
Now we just need Congress to see that these acts of illegal immigration are still a reality today and need to be stopped. But no action will only result in more human smuggling operations taking place.
