Fox News’ Laura Ingraham returns to her show “The Ingraham Angle” amid David Hogg’s attempt to call for an advertiser boycott against the host, The Daily Caller reports.
Ingraham was back on the air last week after returning from a spring vacation with her children. Notably, her show brought in an average of 2.69 million viewers despite a liberal boycott campaign aimed at expelling the host over a tweet. Overall, her viewership is up 20%. So much for the boycott!
Survivor of the Parkland massacre and pro-gun control activist David Hogg took aim at Ingraham after she mocked him on Twitter for being rejected from numerous universities.
Ingraham apologized for her tweet, which Hogg blatantly refused to accept. Teamed up with liberal activist group Media Matters, Hogg and the group pressured the host’s advertisers to boycott her show.
“The Ingraham Angle” was still the leading cable news show in its time slot throughout the week, while “Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” came in as a close second with 2.6 million viewers, according to Mediaite.
While initially deciding to pull ads from Ingraham’s show, Ace Hardware reversed that decision after apologizing for having “incomplete information.”
“Advertising on any network or show, is in no way an endorsement from Ace of the content contained or spoken within that program,” the company stated. “We appreciate the different points of view from our customers, and believe people should be treated with respect and civility.”
My Pillow adverts also stayed intact, with CEO Mike Lindell defending his decision to continue advertising on the show.
“I did not take my advertising down from @IngrahamAngle and @FoxNews, nor do I intend to,” Lindell tweeted on Apr. 2.
Moreover, the co-president of Fox News, Jack Abernathy, showed his support of Ingraham in a statement to TheDCNF.
“We cannot and will not allow voices to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts,” Abernathy said in his statement. “We look forward to having Laura Ingraham back, hosting her program next Monday when she returns from spring vacation with her children.”
