This week, students at a California high school launched a campaign that is encouraging students to walk out of class but this time to protests abortions on a pro-life walkout to see if schools have double standards on what schools will let them protest about reports The Daily Wire.
The movement to protest abortions was started at Rocklin High School by Brandon Gillespie, who says he was inspired by his history teacher, CBS Sacramento reported.
Gillespie said the event is intended “To honor all the lives of aborted babies pretty much. All the millions of aborted babies every year.”
Of course, Gillespie has received some backlash from other students and liberals, like Naeirika Neev who runs the school newspaper and supports the anti-gun march. She responded with a hypocritical and nasty message, saying, “They have their First Amendment, they can go protest about that anytime anywhere.”
Naeirika doesn’t believe that Gillespie has to protest on the school grounds because abortion does not affect high school students directly, whereas school shootings do.
Gillespie says though that having the protest on the school grounds is just the point he’s trying to make. He wants to see if his school and other administrators will be supportive of his desire to protest his conservative ideas while others were allowed to express their liberal ideas.
The principal at Rocklin High School refused to meet with CBS Sacramento for an on-camera interview. A district spokesperson said that the principal planned to sit down with the student and discuss the idea of having a walkout to protest abortion.
