We don’t have to tell you that Megyn Kelly has fallen out of favor with conservatives. Ever since her very public dustups with then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, she has lost much of her conservative audience. She took the money and bolted to NBC where she has looked awkward and out-of-place trying to host a puffy morning show. It has been a disaster and indications look like her time may be ending at NBC. But for a very brief moment today the old Megyn Kelly made an appearance – the Kelly who conservatives adored for her straight talk and commitment to truth. And her target? ‘Hanoi’ Jane Fonda – a popular target for Veterans, conservatives, and freedom-loving Americans of all stripes.
In September Fonda appeared on Megyn Kelly’s morning show. She was there to promote a movie about aging in older women. So Kelly asked her about plastic surgery. Fonda flipped and went on a tour to other media outlets to attack Kelly for her ‘insensitive’ question. That criticism continued through today. So Kelly had enough.
In the video segment below you’ll see Kelly rip into Fonda for a full three minutes. She addresses the issue immediately and then says that Hanoi Jane has “no business lecturing anybody on what qualifies as offensive.” And it got more brutal from there:
“Kelly said she has ‘no regrets about that question. Nor am I in the market for a lesson from Jane Fonda on what is or is not appropriate.’
“And that’s when she brought up Vietnam. Fonda has a long history of activism. But her entrée into activism in the early 1970s when the country was gripped by violent Vietnam War protests has continued to define her. She was dubbed ‘Hanoi Jane’ for appearing in a photo on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun.
“Kelly showed the infamous photo. ‘This is a woman whose name is synonymous with outrage,’ she said. ‘Look at her treatment of our military during the Vietnam War. The moral indignation is a little much. Honesty, she has no business lecturing anyone on what qualifies as offensive.’”
Kelly then showed clips of Fonda discussing her plastic surgery during other interviews.
And while we’d like to think Kelly is coming back to the light, we suspect this is just small glimpse into a past that will never be fully relived again.

So what do you think? Will Megyn Kelly make further amends with conservatives that used to love her? Or will she go back to the downward trajectory of her once promising career?
