Last week, the controversial FISA memo that alleges the U.S. government abused their surveillance abilities with the Trump/ Russia collusion investigation was finally declassified and released by the White House last Friday, but before that happened Sean Hannity explains the real reason why Democrats were trying to stop its release.

Hannity pointed out there has been speculation that the memo reveals the infamous anti-Trump dossier — which came from research funded in part by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign — was used by the FBI to obtain FISA surveillance on Trump associates.

“Democrats and the media, they are now hyperventilating and breathlessly doing everything they can possibly do to discredit and stop the memo from being released,” Hannity said.

He said that Democratic leaders like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) have attacked the memo in “one big lying echo chamber.”

Those talking points have quickly been adopted by Democratic “allies” in the media, Hannity said.

“If the media had any ethical standards left and if they really cared about truth, if they cared about the American people, if they believed in transparency, they would have been all over this story, demanding on behalf of the American people that the memo be released,” he said.

Hannity takes time to point out specifics about the ‘liberal echo chamber’ by pointing out a CNN interview where the fake news network interviews a liberal congressman and they just repeat each other the entire time.

Hannity lays out everything that is wrong with the liberals explanation of not releasing the memo. Many were upset that the memo was edited before it was going to be released, but what they didn’t stop to ask is what those edits were about exactly.

Hannity explains that the edits were mostly for grammar and clarity, which Democrats and the FBI had requested.  Then he points out the major like that Sen. Adam Schiff is claiming and that is that the edited memo was sent to the White House before the approved it and not after like Schiff is claiming.

Some of the liberal news networks are comparing this release as something alike to the McCarthy era and will “be the tipping point of the country and our democracy,” as one CNN reporter said.

The Fox News host then moves on to list out all of the things James Comey needs to own up too after he reads the tweet Comey sent out to give his opinion on the memo release.

To conclude, Hannity replays clips of news coverage of the Watergate scandal and proclaims how much he wishes coverage of major news events, like this FISA memo, could be covered as fairly and unbiased as was done in the Nixon era.
