Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma.), has decided that it’s time to focus her screeching on a different subject, she is now attacking law enforcement and the criminal justice system, the New York Post reported.
Warren was participating in a Q&A session hosted by Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Cedric Richmond at Dillard University in New Orleans.
“In a speech at a historically black college in New Orleans, she declared that ‘the hard truth about our criminal justice system: It’s racist . . . I mean front to back.’
“Her riff is a sign that the Democrats are going to leaven their lurch toward socialism with a condemnation of America as fundamentally racist. After helping fuel Trump’s rise in 2016 with loose rhetoric about the bigotry of cops, Democrats hope to dislodge him in 2020 with even more sweeping accusations of systematic racism.
“The basis of the racism charge is the obvious disparities in the numbers. Blacks are roughly 13 percent of the population. Yet they account for 38 percent of state prisoners, and for more than 30 percent of fatal police shootings.”
“Two words: Donald Trump,” Warren said, before shifting to warn the audience that the November midterm vote is the next fight as Democrats try to break GOP control of Congress.
Warren is attempting to compare the U.S. justice system to that of the apartheid era in South Africa, with a system designed to jail and imprison blacks out of sheer maliciousness. This idea is contemptible, poisonous and wrong.
She has begun to employ the strategy that so many Democrats have clung to; they believe that if they spend their time making sweeping indictments of America as undemocratic and racist at the core.
