Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) has long advocated for the expansion of Medicaid under Obama to remain in place. This is why she took to the Senate Floor this week, to talk about the “War on Medicaid.”
Or more accurately, as the sign she brought out to enhance her point said, the “War on Medicad”. Who would have known that a little ‘i’ could cause some much embarrassment to this woman. On the floor of the senate she said:
“I would hope that my colleagues would stop the focus on decapitation of cutting medicare because it would throw so many people off the system.
“These are the problems I still see with this proposal to basically think that junk insurance will be the way for us to get insurance.”
I think Cantwell’s colleagues hope that she would start the focus on spelling and not embarrassing herself on the Senate floor.
