Attorney General William Barr on Thursday held a press conference on the Special Counsel report, again affirming that no collusion occurred between the Trump 2016 campaign and the Russian government. Barr made the affirmation as he announced the release of a redacted version to the public. An unredacted version was also released to ranking members of Congress, presumably those with the requisite security clearance credentials to read the four categories of sensitive information it is said to contain. Here’s the money line: “Thanks to the Special Counsel’s thorough investigation, we now know that the Russian operatives who perpetrated these schemes did not have the cooperation of President Trump or the Trump campaign-or the knowing assistance of any other Americans for that matter.”
Here’s more from Breitbart…
Attorney General William Barr on Thursday released a redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s long-awaited 448-page report.
The report discusses what Mueller found in regards to a Russian government effort to interfere with the 2016 elections and his investigations into whether the Trump campaign colluded or conspired with the Russian government in their efforts.
The Mueller report states in a summary of its findings on collusion:
Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.
