The White House fired back at actor Robert De Niro after the actor “banned” President Donald Trump from his Nobu Japanese restaurant chain, reports The Daily Wire.

Speaking to Fox News, White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley assured the actor and his restaurateur partner, Nobu Matsuhisa, that the president has no plans to visit a Nobu-branded restaurant or hotel.

“I don’t think the president is planning on attending a dinner at Nobu anytime soon,” Gidley said.

“The president has great dinners here at the White House,” he continued. “And quite frankly, he can go to many of his properties around the country and globe. He won’t be stopping at Nobu anytime soon.”

De Niro told the Daily Mail last week that he wouldn’t be seen eating in any restaurant — his or any other — alongside President Donald Trump.

“If he walked into a restaurant I was in – I’d walk out,” he told the paper.

De Niro might not want to be so quick to exclude a big-name guest from his luxury properties. According to Fortune magazine, De Niro’s Nobu hotel in Manila, in the Philippines, was named the world’s worst luxury hotel.

Either way, Gidley is right. Why would the President of the United States, who spent his time before entering the White House creating a successful international hotel line and real estate company, bother wasting his time at some run down, mediocre, hotel line that an actor from liberal Hollywood land created?

It’s amusing that De Niro even thinks Trump would waste his time eating in one of his restaurants because with being the President of the United States and all, you don’t really have a problem getting into any restaurant at all.
